Haiti Service Project

Church World Service Hygiene Kits for Haiti Ongoing until Saturday, February 13 - CA House will be working with Davis Community Church to put together Church World Service Hygiene Kits for Haiti. CA House is collecting SOAP. We are hoping to collect 100 bars of individually-wrapped soap. We also have a goal of raising $300 to help pack and ship the kits. Finally, we are seeking 10 volunteers to help make the kits at Davis Community Church on Saturday, February 13 at 10am. Let's give back and help out with this great project. You can drop off soap and monetary donations at CA House.

Monday Night Dinner & Worship Monday, February 8th - 5:30 pm, at CA House - Join us for a simple supper followed by a relaxed Christian worship. All are welcome. Winter Quarter 2010, we will be talking about hymnody, or the study of hymns, where we'll look at well loved (and little known!) songs and talk about what they mean and where they came from. There are many great stories to share in song! There WILL be dinner and worship next week (2/15), even though it's a holiday!

Wednesday Night Multifaith Dinner & Program Wednesday, February 3rd - 6:00 pm, at CA House - Come to the community multifaith dinner and program - every Wednesday, dinner is at 6:00 pm and the program is afterwards. This week we will be joined by people from the Interfaith Youth Core (IFYC) in Chicago. If you're interested in being an IFYC Fellow, or if you want to learn more about the national interfaith movement, you should definitely be there!

Come look at a new Psalm each week from the point of view of 4 traditions of faith: Protestant, Catholic, Jewish, and Unitarian Universalist. No experience necessary, just bring yourself and a brown bag lunch..

Bible Study Thursdays, 1:30 pm, in the MU Fielder Room - This quarter we continue with our Bible Study taking us from the beginning of the Old Testament to the end of the New Testament in 30 weeks. For so many Christains, the Bible has been studied piecemeal and the sweep of our history is fragmented. This study, utilizing a workbook and regular readings, will allow us to get a sense of the Bible as a whole, as well as the significant persons, stories and movements.

Meditation Tuesdays, 8:20 am at CA House - Take a quiet moment of reflection at the beginning of your day. No experience necessary, we all learn together.

Grace Notes Concert: Benefit Concert for Grace in Action, Inc Sunday, February 14, 4-6 pm at Davis High School Theater (315 W. 14th St) - Musicians include our own Adam Proveaux and the Lauren Salmo's group, the Liquid Hotplates! Online reservations: www.grace-in-action.org/news.html Suggested donation: $15 per person. Volunteers are needed to help with set up as well as childcare.

CA House Murder Mystery Dinner Friday, February 19, 6-9 pm at CA House - Murder at the Four Deuces. An event filled with deceit, backstabbing, fun and laughter! Can you solve a murder? A simple supper will be served. Tickets: $40. If you cannot attend, you can sponsor a student for $40.
